The oil feels really great and the scent is a much more natural leather scent than most. I stepped out of my comfort zone for this one in a big way and I am glad that I did. This scent reminds me of walking into store that sells leather boots. The scent is comforting and relaxing. The teakwood and cedar are a great touch, and, while not scent forward, contribute greatly to the overall scent profile. I definitely recommend it.
This is my first time purchasing from Sunshine State and I have to say I am impressed. Great feel in my beard and the scent of Steinbeck is awesome. It has that old leather smell, a little dusty (in a good way), with some bourbon and a little smokiness underneath. Fantastic product, thank you.
As a lover of scents that smell of leather, tobacco, old books and darker type scents Steinbeck really intrigued me so I bought it.
I was not disappointed one bit! Upon using Steinbeck for the first time it instantly took me to the City of Buffalo, NY where I had lived for some time long ago....Elmwood Avenue to be exact where I frequented a vintage bookstore quite often. I could smell the cedar planks of the floor of the store, the aged textbooks....the leatherbound type just waiting to be opened, and that smell as soon as you open it, one not to be forgotten. Then taking that book and heading to the weathered and well worn high back chair in the dimly lit corner to read for a spell while the faint scent of bourbon would come in as wisps from the Irish Pub adjacent from the bookstore.
All this from this bottle of beard oil. I love scents that can paint a picture in the mind and that is exactly what Sunshine State Grooming did with Steinbeck. Well done. The scent is perfect and lasts around 6-8 hours aftery applied. No corners were cut when developing their carrier blend either. Every ingredient is top notch and left my beard hair and skin feeling healthy, nourished and soft.
All in all this is a fantastic product and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for Sunshine State Grooming!
Steinbeck oil is a beautiful scent. It's deep, and rich. A reminder of walking into an old library in a mansion. The labeling on the other hand.... thin paper that looks like it was printed on an 80s zerox that was low on ink. Couldn't even read the brand logo. Definitely not befitting the fantastic oil inside!
If I had one suggestion For the company, It would be to sync some money into quality labels. We buy with our eyes first. If I was to see this label In a store.... I would have Not given it a second thought.
