Ingredients

We use only the finest cold pressed oils for our blend. Which is a blend of 8 oils, that gives a medium viscosity oil, that absorbs well and will not leave your hands, face or beard feeling greasy.

 Meadowfoam Seed Oil

Meadowfoam Seed Oil is more than 98% long chain fatty acids, which gives it incredible properties.  It acts as an emolument, sealing in moisture, while sill having a comedogenic rating of 0-1, so it will not plug your pours.  Studies have shown that it assists in protecting the skin from harmful UVB rays.  As an emolument, it will also assist in locking in moisture to your hair.  Further it has a long shelf life and resists oxidation, which allows it to help in retaining scents.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba Oil is a natural humectant, which means that it helps to draw moisture to the skin.  It has antibacterial and antioxidant properties.  It is so similar to the natural sebum oil that your skin produces that it is a zero on the comedogenic scale.  It has anti inflammatory properties which may assist with preventing dry skin and associated conditions.  Being rich in vitamin C, B vitamins, vitamin E, copper, and zinc, it also helps to strengthen the hair.  

Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet Almond Oil serves as both a natural emolument and moisturizer.  Sweet Almond Oil contains Linoleic Acid, an essential fatty acid involved in the structure of the skin barrier, which helps maintain water content.  It also has a zero rating on the comedogenic scale.  It is also rich in Vitamin E. 

Argan Oil

Argan Oil contains both oleic and linoleic acids that make up the majority of argan oil’s fat content which are vital nutrients for maintaining healthy skin and hair.  And it may help in preventing split ends and other damage. It's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds may support reduced redness and irritation of the skin.  Argan Oil also has a zero rating on the comedogenic scale.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is rich in ricin oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid known for its moisturizing properties.  While no scientific studies exist, Castor Oil has been used for centuries as a hair growth serum.  Castor Oil is also very thick, which adds viscosity to the blend.  Castor Oil is a one on the comedogenic scale and is highly unlikely to clog pours.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp Seed Oil is not cannabis oil, and contains no THC.  Hemp Seed Oil contains an Omega 6 fatty acid called gamma-linolenic (GLA) which is a powerful anti-inflammatory and promotes skin growth and new cell generation.  It's anti-inflammatory properties also help to reduce skin inflammation thus opening up pours to absorb the blend more easily.  Hemp Seed Oil is a zero on the comedogenic scale.

Baobab Oil

Baobab Oil is rich in vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids.  Clinical studies have shown that Baobab oil can help with soothing skin conditions as well as moiturizing and sealing in moisture to the skin.  Studies also show that it will help to prevent flaky skin.  It also is a moisturizer used for hair.  Baobab Oil is a two on the comedogenic scale and is unlikely to block pours.

Black Seed Oil

Black Seed Oil contains antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.  And studies have shown that there is at least evidence that Black Seed Oil may promote hair growth and lessen hair loss.  Black Seed Oil is a one on the comedogenic scale. 

 

Our Poured Beard Butter contains both Refined and Unrefined Shea Nut Butter.  This gives you the benefits of both types.  Our Liquid Butter uses Shea Nut Oil, which is refined from Shea Nut Butter, to remove some of the long chain fatty acids, which makes it a liquid at room temperature.

Shea Nut Butter

Shea Nut Butter is high in both linoleic acid and oleic acid, which balance each other and makes it absorb fully and not leave the skin and hair greasy. Shea Nut Butter contains  triterpenes, which are thought to deactivate collagen fiber destruction.  Shea Butter ranges between a zero and a two on the comedogenic scale depending on its state of refinement.

Mango Seed Butter

Mango Butter  contains salicylic acid and antioxidants, which are known to protect from sun damage.  It is rich in vitamins C and E.  It is antibacterial and will moisturize and give a little shine to your hair.  Mango Butter has a two rating on the comedogenic scale.

Kokum Butter

Kokum Butter is probably best known for its role as a potent emollient, or moisturizing agent.  Unlike most other plant butters, kokum butter is remarkably light, absorbed quickly and easily, and not greasy.  Kokum Butter has a zero rating on the comedogenic scale.
